Welcome to The Red Lion

Welcome to The Red Lion – a vibrant hub of the community nestled in the heart of the beautiful Holme Valley, famously known as the home of Last of the Summer Wine.

Recently refreshed and now under new management, we’re proud to bring a renewed energy to this much-loved local pub while keeping its traditional charm.

Here, traditional cask ales are perfectly complemented by our Neighbourhood Kitchen- Tasca.

In Portugal, the term Tasca means far more than simply “tavern”. It represents a long-standing tradition in Portuguese gastronomy: a welcoming local eatery where friends and neighbours gather to enjoy simple, authentic food and great company.

At Tasca, we bring a fun and vibrant dining experience that blends our Portuguese roots with global influences. Try our house specialties such as Piri Piri Chicken, Tacos, or the famous Francesinha. Dine in with us or enjoy your favourites as a takeaway.

Our guest accommodation has been newly furnished to offer a comfortable and luxurious stay surrounded by the stunning Yorkshire countryside.

This cosy, dog-friendly pub offers a warm welcome to all, with regular live music, sports events, and a monthly pub quiz to keep everyone entertained.

Set in the outskirts of the popular town Holmfirth the focus of Last of the Summer Wine. This is a fantastic area to get away from it all, balancing plenty entertainment with lots of fresh air. Holmfirth just 5 minutes away is a delightful place to while away the hours wondering around the streets, enjoy some shopping and great food & drink. With lively night life and the Picture drome theatre hosts regular Live Music.
